Radio Waatea is Aucklands’ only Te Reo News Stories radio station that provides an extensive bi-lingual broadcast to its listeners. Based at Nga Whare Waatea marae in Mangere, it is located in the middle of the biggest Maori population in Aotearoa.

UMA Broadcasting Ltd was established in 1999 by the Urban Māori Authorities, namely the Manukau Urban Māori Authority and Te Whanau a Waipareira Charitable Trust, as an entity to seek, foster and develop opportunities for urban Mâori in broadcasting.

Radio Waatea guarantees that 60% of commercial placements will be broadcast during peak listenership times, which are currently Mon – Fri (7am – 10am, 3pm – 6pm)

The production costs (including copywriting) are already incorporated into the packages. This allows for up to 2 different commercials to be produced only, per advertising contract. If a client wishes to have more than the above to be produced, the following production costs will apply:
